Is that Black Keys even out?

Also, that Bon Iver stinks.

Just a passing comment re: lists I've seen so far. I think that the Low record is being criminally overlooked this year, and I think that the main reason is because it sounds like a Low record.

I can't agree with this. If it sounded like your typical Kranky-era Low, reviewers would be going ape over it. I agree though that its criminally overlooked. It came out when a lot of other high-profile releases hit. Also, there wasn't a whole lot of noise being made about it in the blogosphere, so people might not even know it came out this year and not in 2010.

Would I like either of these?

I like the first (or most recent) Black Lips pretty well.....

Can't speak to the Gambino record but that Lips will make my year end list and is their best since "Good Bad Not Evil" IMO and, although it probably needs the test of time, it might be my favorite Lips record overall. Better production without losing their melodic ramshackleness.

or maybe nobody flipped out because it's slowcore!! even if it is an awesome return to form.

"c'mon" is hanging on in my top 10. i really do think it's a great record, easily their best effort since "things".

what derris said about the black lips. i've never been a fan of their recorded stuff before but this one sounds great.

you may like the childish gambino. it's pretty much in the kanye/drake/kid cudi wheelhouse but it's just more impressive that it's coming from a guy that's mostly known as a comedian.

The only album on that entire Stereogum list that I bothered to keep is the Tom Waits, and even that one is riding the rim of the trash basket.
