It's been said already that Omar was kind of a comic book character, one of the more blatantly fictional-feeling presences on the show. I actually think his death was pretty much perfect in its total random meaninglessness.

Omar, easy. D was one of my favorites, but Omar is an iconic television character. I like comic book characters, comic book characters are interesting...and Omar is certainly that.
