So I heard the new one yesterday browsing through a music store [you know one of those places that carry those round discs in a cardboard fold or plastic case, this being the only one in Miami prolly, these days are sad]. Well, it sounded good, subdued, background music, but I take it all her stuff is like this. I don't own any of her catalog and only have her debut stuck in my head from overplay in every comm/retail space imaginable. Anyone else hear it?

Not yet, but I am sure that my wife will get it pretty soon.
And I did hear a nice little interview with her on NPR this morning. Some snippets of some of the new songs sounded pretty good.
She is always somebody that I don't mind listening to. When my wife wants to put her on, I can listen and even enjoy, but I would not go out and buy her album(s) for myself.

Here's that interview:

And they are streaming the entire album over there, too.

The new one is in my Spotify queue. I don't go back to her stuff very often, but one thing that's always stood out before is her cover choices (Hank Williams Sr, Tom Waits, et al.)

7 songs in, and this is her Sea Change. Sleepy, a little sad, reverby. Nothing has stood out yet.
