I've only bought two '05 releases so far.

Antony & the Johnsons I Am A Bird Now
Black Mountain Black Mountain

And there hasn't been much else I've even wanted to hear, let alone buy.

Six Organs of Admittance "School of the Flower".

I'm waiting for this to be bumped already, however.

Two great choices- FYI Antony & the Johnsons are doing 2 shows here in Seattle at a local playhouse with Devendra Banhart, William Basinski and CocoRosie. Not sure if they are repeating them in Vancouver, but I thought I'd let you know.

Ticketing link is below, the wife and I are going to the Saturday show.

Thanks for the heads up, but A & the J's were just here and they didn't have Banhart in tow. Unless they're coming back this way... Hmmm, I best get my ass over to Pollstar.

Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree, with Gimme Fiction a close 2nd...

Haven't heard the Anthony & The Johnsons/Bloc Party/Doves albums yet... Bright Eyes is pretty good, but not #1, Dead Meadow/6 Organs are OK, and I LOATHE Francis the Mute...

Me too.... I want my $7 and some change I spent on it back. I ended up trading it in the day after I bought it. My ears were bleeding after listening to that album.

don't know "francis the mute" at all.

definitely not prog or metal.

most everything i've read mentions blue cheer and black sabbath. i'd say it's a mix of black rebel motorcycle club, brian jonestown massacre, warlocks...and even a touch of early verve.

it's an awesome album that i think a ton of people on here would really dig....
