I've been cool. I've been working a lot of non-stop 11 hour days since mid January, so I haven't been posting lately. Went down to New Orleans for a bachelor party earlier in the month and found out that being mongerous isn't what it's cracked up to be anymore.
Jus' been hanging with the lady and chillin' on the weekends, that's about it. Normal life around here.

I'm *probably* heading to Athens for the Brew Fest. I think it's the weekend of APR 15. Should be killer.

That might be fun. My lady is bugging me to get us out of town (We are supposed to be going to Charleston sometime in April), but I'd be up to heading to Athens for the Brew Fest if you guys are.

BrewFest is April 16, a Saturday. I have already gotten that day off work, and I will be at the Classic Center, tasting all the fine beers BrewFest will have to offer, at the same time avoiding Ort like he is the plague. If you don't know Ort, you are not a true Athenian. Also, I have determined that I will probably be rediculous by the end of the evening, and I'm hoping someone will want to work for me the following morning. Amen.

There are several TRUE Athenians on this board including me and I don't know who/ what Ort is. Anybody else from A-town know what this person is talking about?

Ort is a guy who has been around since the late 70's/early 80's. Not exactly sure when. He was featured in the "Athens, GA: Inside Out" doc in the late 80's talking about the early 80's Athens scene.

I've talked to him before about random shit on the street after many bourbons. He just a general monger who does pieces for the Flagpole occasionally on beers and trips that he takes. He wears glasses and has a huge long beard and usually has some fashion of suspenders or such. He's like a local color type eccentric who is just part of the scene. ATL Thread HIJACK!!!

Ort= William Orten Carlton. He is obsessed with beer, music, and Cincinnati chili. Without any notice whatsoever, he will suck you into a long conversation that usually starts off talking about one of the above things and then ends up him talking about this time he was in Iowa at a flea market, etc. He's a nice guy, but sometimes (like when I'm at the bar with my friends) I don't want to have a 20 minute talk on how Blue Ash Chili is much better than Skyline, and what ever happened to Camp Washington? Did you try the American Porter yet? Don't you play the flute?
He has recently trimmed the beard, so it's not as long, and he cut his hair too!

i'm interested in hearing how the new album sounds. I'm not gonna freak out over it but I'm sure it'll be worth listening to in the very least. It's almost like I can give that album a solid 7.0-8.0 wihout even having to hear it. I like that sort of dependability.

of course, if JW decides he wants some shitty techno backbeat now, all bets are off.
