So, we've been deluged with rain here for the past couple weeks and it's really affected my mood to the point where I only want to play mysterious, sad bastard music now.

What kind of music do you find compliments rainy weather???

Yesterday I put on pumachik's collection of Trip Hop favorites and it inspired me to dig out a few classics and compile a similiar mix of my own. PM me if you're interested in this.

Image

PORTISHEAD - Mysterons
LAMB - Lusty
SUPREME BEINGS OF LEISURE - Last Girl On Earth
GUS GUS - Teenage Sensation
THE CRYSTAL METHOD - Glass Breaker
SNEAKER PIMPS - 6 Underground
CRUSTATION - Purple
MORCHEEBA - Trigger Hippie
RONI SIZE - New Forms
TRICKY - Christiansands
MASSIVE ATTACK - Teardrop
DJ SHADOW - Building A Head Of Steam With A Grain Of Salt
NIGHTMARES ON WAX - Rise
THIEVERY CORPORATION - Lebanese Blonde

Hmmm. Did I overlook anyone?

Some fantastic tunes sir. "Teardrop" always slays me, and good to see "New Forms" in there. I just caught Roni Size at Winter Music Conference [Ultra Music Festival] last night, and he KILLED!!!

New Forms is such a definitive album for the genre.

I am really jealous you got to see him live. I feel that I was really lucky to catch DJ Spooky here a few years back.

Man, are Gus Gus even together anymore?

Someone fly me to Iceland so I can check.

edit: I just went to their website instead and found they have a new album coming out this Spring called "Forever". They're not on 4AD anymore and they have a new singer but it still might be worth hearing.

American Analog Set is the best rainy day music ever. Particularly, Promise of Love.
