Devo: Hardcore Devo Volumes 1&2

Excellent new reissues of these early demo recordings that have been out of print for a while now. I don't think they are quite as revelatory as I read some say, they sound like underproduced Devo. The familiar tracks aren't dramatically different than the later official ones. Still, there is a lot of material that never got a fuller production that can be interesting to hear and the familiar tracks while essentially the same do have a raw quality that is fun to hear and probably even better than the later versions. I don't wanna undersell this stuff as it really is quite good and while they are basic recordings, the sound quality isn't close to bad. If you're a fan and haven't checked these out yet, you'll want to, definitely worth hearing. Helps that the vinyl reissues anyway are fantastically well done. If you only get one, Volume 1 is the better of the two for my money.
