Sleeping Ute is a BEAST of a song.

Just kind of skimmed through a stream of this, but it sounded excellent. Hopefully it will stick with me better than Veckatimest did.

i'm not sold on this yet like a lot of people have been, but it also took me an absurdly long time to get into veckatimest and i ended up putting that in my top 10 the year of its release.

the second song on that album is great. I really love this different vocal direction.

I *think* I'm with you after a first skim of the NPR stream. I wasn't a fan of Veckatimest either

This is a stellar album. Can't wait to see them at the Greek soon.

Friend of mine who is granted a big fan of GB just saw them last night at the Ryman and said it was the best concert she's ever seen/heard. She's gone to a lot of shows too. For those of you on the fence about seeing them live, you should probably go. If for one skipped the show to see Why? and Doseone at a club a few minutes from the Ryman. It was good too.

Ha, I went to Grizzly Bear in the A and thought it was incredible...and it was at a place I absolutely detest for it's usually horrible sound...I even made it to WHY? afterwards...

another band that i unfortunately had blinders on due to (unjust) PPDD associations. i always secretly liked "Two Weeks", but it wasn't until this past year when i finally sat down with Vecktamist, and ultimately Daniel Rossen's EP and was completely won over.

i liked this album immediately, and it has gotten better with each listen. there is a lot going on...this one needs to be played loud.

**also my favorite album artwork of the year so far.

kind of wished I'd done the GB -> Why? thing myself. Doseone solo was entertaining, but nothing like his show with Themselves or Subtle.

Finally given this a few full listens.

It's a wonderful album. Probably their best and possibly the year's best.

does nothing for me, maybe if I spent more time but I think it has more to do with their layering formula or sound choices, none of their albums did it for me, so i would not expect this either

can't really say i'm disappointed, met my expectations
