Only reason Pye Corner Audio wasn't higher on my list is because it was discovered late in the year. Great record. Lots of stuff on your list I haven't heard of, but will be checking out.

Side note: don't know if you caught my TRVE Brewing references on FB and here, but if you're ever in Denver, you've got to make it a priority.

man, that Goat album took me by surprise. Fenriz from Darkthrone recommended it to me, and I went in thinking it was black metal. surprised and stoked to find out it was not, and far more interesting than any bm release this year! praying i catch them live at some point as their shows look incredible.

I like most of what I've heard from your list. I'll have to check out a few others.

I tried with the new Wild Nothing but it pales in comparison to Gemini (my #1 from 2010) and I couldn't quite sneak it into my top 20.

Like this list a lot. That Brambles is relentlessly beautiful, right up Acid Grandpa's alley. Agree that the Goat is a strong and surprising release; at first it seemed kinda like a trick, but it has held up and grown on me. The Liars... I think I've given up on them, I couldn't listen more than once. Arial Pink is annoyingly catchy. "I'm a nympho..."

yeah the Brambles album was by far my favorite ambient inspired release of the year. seriously breathtaking record start to finish.

My 2nd favorite in this list is not on Spotify, so here is a link. Hands down the best Black Metal album of the year, and probably one of my favorites of all time.

My experience too. It was moderately interesting, but it's snuck into my top ten. Something about the tone of the guitars...

Belbury Poly got me checking all sorts of ghost box stuff.

That Pye Corner Audio has some fine touches. Glad I got around to it. Its a great grey day album for me.
