Tomahawk have released Oddfellows, the title track of their fourth album.

The band have held their silence since 2007′s Anonymous, but return to full power with the release of the record on January 29 and a tour of the US west coast in February – their first live dates in a decade.

Mike Patton (Faith No More) is joined once again by Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard) and John Stanler (Helmet). Trevor ‘Field Mouse’ Dunn, of Patton’s outfits Mr Bungle and Fantomas, replaces original bassist Kevin Rutmanis.

The band say: “Tomahawk took a break to discover the many truths of the universe. They also uncovered several non truths. This is not a reunion – unless that means they will make more money.”

I'll have to give it a few more listens but I didn't like it all that much, outside of stone letter, and I only liked that because it reminded me of King For A Day era FNM.

Listening now. So far so meh. Always something I want to like more than I do.

I think that's all post-Bungle Patton rock projects for me. I'll still check it out, though.

God, the adjectives in that sentence I just wrote.
