Quicksand

Not sure if there are any fans of the 90s hardcore band Quicksand, but they're touring now. I caught the show last night at the Fonda Theater in LA, and they really rocked out. Highly recommended show if they make it to your town. :rawk:

I never gave them the time they deserved apart from spinning "Delusional" at the college station. Tom Capone went on to play in Handsome, whose lone album I adore.

Saw them here a couple of weeks ago. Awesome. Walter seemed to start out a little timid, but by the end of the night he was roaring like a lion.

Nice! I still have Manic Compression on my ipod, and each time I do a purge it somehow survives. Was a staple of some of my college radio shows.

Related, I never knew Schreifels did a solo record until recently. Apparently, he toured on it and everything. He has a follow-up coming soon as well.

Handsome- yes! Love those guys, along with Quicksand. Wonder if they'll be playing the Bay Area...

Handsome just had the one disc, correct?

I forgot Walter was in Quicksand. I also love the first Rival Schools record and thoroughly enjoyed seeing them in '08.

Man, within a six month span I will have seen Refused, Grade, Quicksand and Texas Is The Reason. I have officially arrived in the nineties.

i saw them a few weeks ago. the most amusing part was watching dads try to re-live their youths in the pit. walter's voice was a little off and they changed up a couple arrangements (most noticeably with "landmine spring" and "unfulfilled" most), but it was really fun. they played one of the first big hardcore shows i went to in new york back in the mid-90s.

i also really liked the opener, single mothers.

Did a double take. Thought it said Mother Superior. The band Henry Rollins took on the road with him in the early 00s.

They did a reunion show in their hometown, Burlington, at the Burly Calling Fest in December. It was great. I enjoyed it more than the Refused show.
