Doesn't he have a somewhat non-traditional household? How does that work?

he has a male partner and they have 3 kids...14, 8 and 3

his partner, mikey, lives in bloomington with the kids while my brother is in japan for the year. they skype a lot and he gets to come home for 2 weeks in the summer. they'll probably go out to visit him at some point.

Yeah he seems to be in Tokyo. He used to come to a weekly gig I had for 2 and a half years back around 2002-2004, unless he was over there. We've just kept in touch.

i would love to go to tokyo sometime. i'm going to visit my bro in nagasaki which is way south, and i had assumed heading up to tokyo was like an indy-to-chicago excursion, but turns out it's more like indy-to-nyc. i'd have to book another flight.

but it sounds like staying down there will have its own opportunities for quaint fishing village exposure. i guess there's lots of important historical stuff down that way as well.
