Rasputin's had a used copy of this promo EP for a couple o' bucks. I guess Big Man On Paper is from an OOP disc released long ago, Human Soul? Don't know if the other tracks are only on this EP, but will dig deeper. Sounds pretty damn good, tho.

You can hear BMOP on this site----> http://musicruinedmylife.blogspot.com/2 ... -1989.html

One of the comments reads: I just pulled out the Human Soul CD. I probably haven't listened to the CD in over 20 years. Sounds better than I remembered. Definitely kinda laid back and polished but the Graham Parker voice still has the bite. The horns are great. Brinsley on guitar, Bodnar on bass, Nieve on synths, James Hallawell on Hammond Organ and Pete Thomas on drums.

Tracklisting on the site is wrong, there are only 6 songs on the disc, running time a little over 12 minutes. Last song (Green Monkeys) is only 25 seconds long and ends abruptly. Wtf.

Pretty much. There are some subtle differences--it's a bit heavier than a lot of SY material, for one--but it's still Thurston Moore's trademark songwriting/guitar playing/vocals.

*edit: That is to say, it doesn't feel like Thurston Moore trying to recreate SY with different members; but his own traits make the similarities a given.

I actually don't think I've heard that one. Compared to her other albums though, the new one is a bit more accessible. Zach Hill isn't playing on this one though, but Kid Millions (Oneida) is so there's not really a drop in quality. I liked it.

I haven't heard it, but I'd probably consider Kid Millions to be a vast improvement over Zach Hill.

I don't know if I'd say vast improvement.
