(Fuck It. 99.6% of you won't or don't care, but maybe they'll be a few eyes who may see something that interests them. Biting Dale's thread. Thanks dude).

Play the Assassin is excited to welcome 'The Blanche Hudson Weekend' to the family.

Quote:
Rising from the ashes of the now defunct Manhattan Love Suicides, The Blanche Hudson Weekend bring you all kinds of noise, fuzz, melody, dissonance, and raw buzz-saw pop. Take a bit of 1960's girl group sounds, garage ramshackle production, some gun slinging guitars and sugar sweet vocals, then lock the doors, bolt the windows, kill the lights, and enjoy. Assassin Extended is over-joyed to offer the band's first official long player to the U.S. music base. Reverence, Severance & Spite collects the bands first three independently released singles along with a batch of newly recorded material. All this stuff makes for one essential sugar coated blast of fizz-bomb pop delivered without too much spit n' polish but with a whole fistful of cool. FOR FANS OF: Best Coast, Wavves, 60's girl-group garage rock pop punk bands and stuff.

I'm just as bad. I haven't had full internet access at work for a couple of months and subsequently haven't had any IM'ing options opened for a while. BUT YES YOU DO.

not this time around.
Would have needed to be a 2xLP, and then to make it fancy special colored, would not have been cost effective, so it is CD for now.

The band, however, has released the first 6 songs on the CD, on limited edition 7" vinyl, available through their site...

So Hideous, My Love - Coming April 2011

www.sohideousmylove.com - d/l their first ep for free.

Quote:
Yearning for a sound that could encapsulate both the epic tendencies of classical music and post-rock with the raw emotionality of hardcore and black metal, So Hideous, My Love… from New York, United States was conceived by composer / guitarist Brandon Cruz in the winter of 2008. Early 2009 saw Jack Marshall, Rob Browning and Jose Marmolejos join the project, each bringing a unique playing style and musical perspective. So Hideous, My Love…released their first EP titled “I Balance A Daydream On The Edge Of A Knife” in early 2010.

I'm really digging Blanche Hudson Weekend and will be grabbing that one soon.

So Hideous My Love sound so monumentally awful from just the description that I cannot bring myself to take a listen.

But ya know, hitting .500 is pretty darn good.

In preparation for their vinyl release this March, Play The Assassin is proud to offer the debut EP from NYC doom-rockers, MOTH EATER. The 4 song EP is available through the PTA MP3 store...

Image

Quote:
Beers Village, NY based Metal/Doom band Moth Eater were born to drink some beers and kick your ear's ass; and the keg is almost empty! The band describes their sound as, "...like Motörhead driving to a Black Sabbath concert with Scissorfight sitting in the back seat, High on Fire riding shotgun and the Doomriders driving the car behind us. Featuring former members of Scar Culture (Century Media) and Dirty Rig (Escapi Music), this foursome churns out deliberate dollops of snarling vocals, rumbling bass, and nimble fretwork without losing the intent to obliterate everything in its path, creating an ominous sound drenched in metallic lava spewed from the core of the volcano. Beers up!

STREAM THE WHOLE EP & all of our releases NOW @ www.playtheassassin.com (MP3 store)
