He takes the long view with his take but really, none of this is new behavior in America. There has always existed mob mentality and entitled behavior. Particularly in small towns that deify sports teams, etc.

Hell, when I was in high school, our football team was the pride of the town and we had a coach that had been there 40+ years. One of the guys a grade above me's dad was a cop and it was common knowledge that this coach was pulled over twice for DUI during my time in school and was let go because he was "Coach". He may have even coached those policemen at one point.

Bottom line, you can't fucking rape women and "we didn't think what we were doing was wrong" is no fucking excuse. I have a small amount of sympathy for how young and dumb these guys were but it's not in the same universe as the sympathy that should be held for the victim.
