I am a pretty good songwriter, yes I believe this to be true, as do several others.

However, I may not be cut out to be a rock star. (But that won't stop me from trying.)

Still, I think that some of the songs I write would sound pretty damn good being played by other bands, which leads me to my question:

Have any of you ever pitched your songs to another band/label/etc.? If so, how did you go about doing it? Do you know of any resources where I can pitch a song or two without getting my shit ripped off?

Please folks, let me know your experiences.
I know there have to be some of you who have looked into this. Infuse me with your wisdom. Hey! "Infuse Me With Your Wisdom" is a pretty good song title!)

Thanks, y'all.

I've never done it before. But it's funny you should bring it up because I was jut having a discussion with my bandmate about this sort of thing. It's kind of a strange idea to me but an interesting one to consider, nonetheless.

I guess in my case it was more of a Songs: Ohia kind of thing.

I've never tried to. I wouldn't mind trying though, but i wouldn't really know where to start.

i've never used this site, but i've thought about using it.

www.taxi.com

you see lots of country labels looking for songs, but not as much in other genres.

Thanks, jewels.
I actually do have a couple of country songs. And a couple that would translate well to the genre.

I've had a couple of my songs covered before and it's amazing how flexible genres can be.

particularly now that popular country sounds like Huey Lewis and the News with more slide guitar and a forced twang.
