Did you make it to see them? I caught them both nights here last week for their whole "Past, Present and Future" thing. Pretty amazing both nights.

Setlists:

Cosmos
Rainbow
Pink
Vanilla
Statement
Angel
Heavy Friends
Hama
Dyna-Soar
1970
Farewell

Night 2:
Huge
Attention Please

16:47:52
Ultimate Fuse (Dead End cover)
Flood

Huge was the highlight of that night I thought. However on night 1 Pink-->Vanilla-->Statement was one of the best bits of music I have ever experienced live.

I was surprised they played the MBV cover. I thought the whole Yellow Loveless thing was clever and their version of Sometimes is probably my favorite thing off of the compilation. It's not great, but worth checking out if you haven't. The whole thing is up here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lbf8h3sykiw

Where'd they play in DC, K?

When I saw them at the Black Cat I was pretty underwhelmed. It wasn't as loud as I had been led to believe they were, and they seemed kinda off. Bummer because I love their albums...maybe I built their live show up too much in my head.

They played the Rock n Roll Hotel this time around. That place is always loud...still can't figure out DC crowds though...I'm always way more comfortable in Baltimore it seems.

Yeah, DC is hit or miss. I think DC has more scenesters who are more there to socialize than listen. Bmore has more people coming in from the burbs, so they wanna listen. That's always been my unscientific take.

Trouble is, there are more venues in DC than Baltimore.

Speaking of RnR Hotel, I see Pere Ubu is playing there in Sept. Hmmmmmm....
