Here are some of my favorite albums of the year. Not in any particular order. There are some that you all have in yours lists that I am still digesting (Silver Seas, Andrew Duhon, John Moreland, Haim, Sturgill Simpson, Parquet Courts), so there will likely be changes in a month or two as I listen to all this shit.

The Night Marchers - Allez Allez
Arctic Monkeys - AM
The Waterboys - An Appointment with Mr. Years
Futurebirds - Baba Yaga
Churches - The Bones of What You Believe
Superchunk - I Hate Music
Mikal Cronin - MCII
Mark Kozelek and Desertshore - S/T
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City
Phosphorescent - Muchacho
Deer Tick - Negativity
Frightened Rabbit - Pedestrian Verse
San Fermin - S/T
Okkervil River - The Silver Gymnasium
Jason Isbell - Southeastern
Lloyd Cole - Standards
The Virgins - Strike Gently
The National - Trouble Will Find Me
Foxygen - We Are The 21st...

some of my favirit tunes:

Well, taking this list at face value, I like it. Ten overlaps with mine, including many of the tracks you chose from those albums.

Maybe next year you should bury the list in an undisclosed location, then post cryptic instructions on how to find it.

Ok I'll post it in a more readable format so I can be excoriated tomorrow.

there were also some albums by artists I've liked a lot in the past that just didn't make the list this year due to what I feel were average to below average releases for them:

Neko Case, Tim Easton, Willie Nile, Iron and Wine, Son Volt, Surfer Blood, Cults, Frank Turner, Richard Buckner (to a lesser extent).
