WTF???????

Feels like just yesterday I was GOLD if my fake id worked at a bar and if someone scored some of the worst weed in 6 counties, we were thankful.

God Bless America.

Also the year of Green Day, Notorious BIG, Hootie, REM shitting Monster all over everyone, Ill Communication, Crooked Rain, and Jeff Buckley's "Grace".

Heady times.

I have very little idea what I was doing between 1992 and 1995. And only slightly more up to 1998. Having said that I do know I stole a cement mixer in 1993.

I think most of my albums were cassettes at that time since I didn't really have a 'home base' and was drinking a lot of cough medicine and sleeping on buses. I had 'Teenager of the Year'.

I remember when 'Monster' came out I spent almost all my time in a cafe in Greenock with all my stuff in plastic bags piled up in the booth. I only used Farmfoods plastic bags because I had a fascination with the cartoon polar bear logo. I'm not sure how I paid for anything but it was probably a fraudulent student grant application.

I was in middle school wishing I was old enough to go to lollapalooza...I thought every band played in big venues like the one my buddy's dad took us to see Tom Petty at. I don't even think I discovered jerking off yet...

I was 6, I think at the time I had maybe one Beatles cassette as my entire music collection and didn't know who Nirvana was for a few more years.

First summer home from college. Quite a few of beer-drinking bonfires and poker nights. Primary car tunes source was 89X, the alt rock station out of Windsor, Ontario. "Black Hole Sun" was overplayed to death, and over time Weezer's blue album emerged as the summer's champion.

94 was such an amazing year. Nirvana's unplugged was a gem. I was a sophomore in college in New Orleans. Good times.

I'll play. Unemployed college grad trying to figure out what to do with my life. I was really at an existential crossroads. This album wasn't a major part of it, but their studio releases were.

Graduated h.s. in 94, headed off to college to live with friends in an apartment. Quickly got a job at a sandwich place downtown that I kept for like 6 years, met a ton of cool people in the "downtown employee" mafia, tried to figure out what to get a degree in...

I'm always a bit curious how the eponymous aspect of this record affects its legacy. Great record, for sure, but the timing really changes it.

Did you mean posthumous instead of eponymous? Or are you coming at this from some other angle?
