What is blowing hour hair back these days? I listen to everything so genre doesn't matter. I am in a music funk.

Timis did ask for good music though, YB. Y'know - the stuff we hide in the cupboard for when company comes over.

Chicago band with a throwback punk sound and great guitar playing. Nice guys, too.
Oh, and it's a free download/pay what you want kind of thing.

I really like the new Umphrey's McGee (Similar Skin), it has some great guitar work. See if you like that.

Grabbed this based on a Spotify rec.—Somalian funk, recorded live at Radio Mogadishu. Sounds like a joke, but it isn't.
Spotify was dead on this time and I am loving it. Picked up the CD when I found it at a record store in Minneapolis when I was there last week.
LINK

Hope you dig.

I'm likely in the minority here, but I love the new Pixies album.

DEATH - FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO SEE
Saw the documentary about these guys (A Band called Death) and it was pretty great. The music also grabbed me, so I picked this up -- their first album. Just flat-out rock that will kick your ass.

Have you heard Phil Manzanera's first post-Roxy solo album?
It's pretty great. A relatively new discovery for me and I am loving the HELL out of it.

My friend John has a project called Happy Ashtray that I know I've mentioned around here before.
He's incredibly prolific, so there's a lot of stuff out there from him for you to dig into. A mishmash of influences, including Yo La Tengo, Beck, The Rolling Stones, and Guided By Voices.
Also, he has one of my favorite voices, ever. The aural equivalent of a cozy, warm blanket.
