I watched the Files everyday after school. My favorite episodes were the ones with Isaac Hayes as Gandolph---loved his and Garner's interactions.

Like most kids (I assume) I was always trying to pretend to be ill and get sent home from school. If successful, one of the perks of this little ruse was to be able to lie on the sofa and watch the bizarre, strange world of afternoon television.

The undoubted highlight was The Rockford Files from the magnificent theme tune, to the cool car, to Jim Rockford's unusually hang dog hero who was more human punching bag than action man.

I also seem to remember that virtually every woman on The Rockford Files was absolutely smoking hot. Clearly, along with more weighty and cerebral Columbo, the best of its time.
