No Depression does a compiled list of readers' top 10s every year and people just started posting their contributions. I saw this album on a few lists. Its available on spotify if you want to listen. There's some pretty good steel guitar on it but I don't really like the guy's voice much. The song Emmylou sings on is a cover of Gram Parsons' "She." Must have been pretty amazing to go from being homeless to covering Gram Parsons with Emmylou's help.
