I saw Absolutely Free open for Alvvays a few months back liked them a lot. Listened a few times to that album but need to listen more. Really good stuff.

Absolutely Free has been on my list of stuff that I hope to get around to in the next week or so. There's another maybe similar (or maybe not) band called Horse Lords (who did a split with Lower Dens a while back) whose album I also want to check out.

I may just have to check out that Timber Timbre after all with both you and stu putting it at #1.

DOOMSQUAD sounds pretty cool.

I keep forgetting that Fucked Up and Goat both put out albums last year, and I've completely ignored that Bill Callahan dub album for some reason.

Shabazz Palaces, Ought, and Aphex Twin are great. I'm kinda getting bored with this iteration of Swans now, but "Oxygen" is a cool song. I don't really like the Scott Walker + Sunn O))) thing.

I'm curious how much you like this album. I'm a big fan of his but only gave it a few listens on spotify when it first came out and then almost forgot that it even existed. I always meant to go back and give it a few more listens but my initial impression was that it might be his worst (or maybe better put least great) album or if not probably near the bottom of his catalog. That's not to say that it might not be a fine album on its own merits that most artists would/should be proud of but with such a deep catalog, how many listens would this get after any novelty of it being new wears off? I'm often more critical of the artists that I love the most in this regard which makes me feel like a bad fan but I'm always hesitant to buy anything that I'm pretty sure I won't be listening to a year from now.

Thanks for posting the list.

Dude, you HAVE TO hear the Timber Timbre record. Also, Absolutely Free. Additionally, DOOMSQUAD.

I did this:

It's not great, actually. Some great moments, but less consistent than "Old Ideas", which I really liked.

That Earth record was pretty good. Quite a few on here I have never heard (of) that I will have to check out based on my general faith in your recommendations dude.

Gave a few of these a listen. That Ought is pretty great, wish I would have listened to it sooner. About half of that Timbre Timber I really liked as well. Thanks for those dude.

I'm liking that Absolutely Free album.

That's a good performance. They're pretty tight.

I dig that Absolutely Free track. Sounds like something I would have played on my Moog Power show back in the day.
