Only the driver is charged with murder, interestingly enough. Three with involuntary manslaughter and the other two with assault and improper arrest charges.

*blink blink* I'm out in the boonies of Maryland now--but scary moments for some friends downtown. Thankfully nothing major happened in their spheres. Some minor mischief spillover into their neighborhoods. But this whole thing has just been--wow.

Kinda intense/surreal seeing "your" city on the news literally on fire, or mentioned every 5 seconds.

Not that I am happy about any of this, I am glad to have many (safe) friends in Baltimore, giving me some perspective. I love seeing the videos of on-the-streets reporters getting their asses handed to them because the people they interview are refusing to sensationalize the story that the news station wants to report.
