I'm gonna make a top 30, just for the years 2000-2015, ranked.

This is a 16-year span, so even if I just took the #1 and #2 each year, something is gonna have to be cut. Plus what if my #3 from any given year is better than a #1 or #2 from any other year?

I'd be curious to see all your 21st century lists.

I'm not going to rank any albums from 2015 yet. Here's my stab at it, roughly in order, but not really. Decided on no repeat artists, although there would've probably been at least 3 if I hadn't set that restriction. These are albums that I rated highly at the time of their release and still listen to quite a bit now.

Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Arcade Fire - Funeral
Modest Mouse - The Moon & Antarctica
LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver
McLusky - McLusky Do Dallas
Belle & Sebastian - The Life Pursuit
The Notwist - Neon Golden
The National - Alligator
Broken Social Scene - You Forgot It In People
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves
The Walkmen - Bows and Arrows
Frightened Rabbit - The Midnight Organ Fight
Spoon - Girls Can Tell
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
Doves - Lost Souls
The Avett Brothers - Emotionalism
Ted Leo - Tyranny of Distance
Guided By Voices - Isolation Drills
Destroyer - Kaputt
TV on the Radio - Young Liars EP
John Murry - The Graceless Age
Badly Drawn Boy - The Hour of Bewilderbeast
The Wrens - The Meadowlands
Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City
Beck - Sea Change
John Vanderslice - Pixel Revolt
The War on Drugs - Lost in the Dream
The Format - Dog Problems
Joe Henry - Civilians
Antlers - Hospice

I probably have to re-evaluate most of my 2000-2005 favorites, and even the last 10 years get hazier the further back I go. I've kept my old lists, but I don't necessarily trust them anymore.

This is tempting, though, and I'll probably do it when I have time.

These are probably my favorite albums from the past 15 years that I still heavily listen to, in no particular order.

Spoon - Kill The Moonlight (almost was Transference solely because of my love for 'Got Nuffin')
Modest Mouse - Moon & Antarctica (only because The Lonesome Crowded West was 1997)
    Arcade Fire - Funeral
    Rodrigo Y Gabriela - [S/T]
Kent - Du and Jag Doden
    Nada Surf - Let Go
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - [S/T]
    Black Keys - El Camino
American Analog Set - Know By Heart
    Soft Pack - [S/T]
We Were Promised Jetpacks - These Four Walls
    Doves - The Last Broadcast
    Weakerthans - Reconstruction Site
Strokes - Room On Fire (the under appreciated follow up, I love the polished sound)
    Rhett Miller - The Instigator
Iron and Wine - Woman King EP
Robert Randolph & The Family Band - Unclassified
Guided By Voices - Human Amusements at Hourly Rates (cop out GBV selection)
Dandy Warhols - Thirteen Tales From Urban Bohemia
Ryan Adams - Rock N Roll (beat out Gold because I listen to it more)
Seafood - When Do We Start Fighting...
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs For The Deaf
Snow Patrol - Final Straw (because this one got me hooked on them)
The National - Trouble Will Find Me

With the following noticeable absences and honorable mentions:
    Frames - Dance The Devil
    Shins - Oh Inverted World
    Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights
    Clinic - Walking With Thee
    stellastarr** - [S/T]

I'm already feeling the tinges of nostalgia looking at these lists. I'm going to try to get a rough draft of mine done today at work!

Funnily enough, I think if this were a top 50 list, there would be a lot more overlap with other lists here. Sufjan, Exploding Hearts, Shins, Iron & Wine, and a bunch others are out there on the fringes.
