Ok, Bush et al are oilmen and Jesus freaks.

Democrats et al are areligious (not all, but for this argument) and not involved in energy production.

Do Bush and them not believe we will run out of oil/not believe in climate change/not believe in alternate energy because they don't really even believe in FOSSIL FUELS.

To believe in Fossil Fuels is to believe and dinosaurs and shit like that...But a lot of your hardcore religiosity types don't believe in that stuff. hence, they may not even believe oil comes from fossils.

Does this make any sense? (Sadly, I'm not even high..this just occurred to me while reading an article in Rolling Stone that says WE'RE DOOMED)

You know as well as I do that it's not about making sense.

There was some guy a number of years ago though that theorized that oil and other fuels result from the inner layers of earth, something about natural by-product of magma or something else I'm not really qualified to explain.

But that's what I mean. Are they willfully blind to the fact that these are nonrenewable resources? Is this because of Jebus? Are we going to let these assholes drive us off a cliff (or, coast us off a cliff ;) )

when we, and by we I mean, progressives or liberals or people with brains, can't even stand up on intervention of a vegetable...how are we going to fight this shit. It's mind boggling. I'm gonna have to take some tranquilizers just to sleep tonite.

I would actually like to see some sort of impossible study done wherein it revealed how much these politicians who witness in front of cameras actually have to do with real religious faith.

Little things like owning a Bible that has some wear on the pages from study, regular church attendance and tithe, volunteer work with various church organizations, etc.

I have grandparents who are very strict Southern Baptists, and they do not behave in the same way as the people who are reviled on this board, and other outlets. I respect the strength of their convictions and their faith, and I have zero problems with it guiding their voting habits.

But I don't admire the bravado displayed in front of the microphone by the likes of most of these pundits and politicians.

i've heard that they don't care because they theorise that, while the earth is of limited resources, space is limitless and therefore potentially full of vast untapped resources that we just have to find a way to get. and i guess that god made the space or whatever.

. . . neither was the guy who had that theory. Those fossils oil comes from? Yeah, that's pretty much fact. That's a real interesting question. Senator

Thing is, I think they are just playing to the spoiled nature of the American people. Most people out there love their cars and don't mind paying for gas.

There are some people who are open to change, but not when it requires real dollars or real effort. They don't see the value of change until after it occurs.

I don't remember the source, but my father relayed some pretty significant strategy he picked up from someone who had a hand in evolving and innovating his particular field. He said:

"The key to success is staying three steps ahead of the pack. If you are running with the pack, you aren't in the lead. Get too far ahead, and people don't understand. You have to stay just ahead so that they see what you're doing and how it benefits them."

the thing is, its pretty fucking scary being around these assholes. Hell, in Bama and GA the DEMOCRATS are as bad as the Republicans EVERYBODY goes to church around here. Scares the shit out of me. Hell, a guy I work with, who I considered a grade A monger, had a seriously dog-eared Bible and study guide in his car last time i saw him...Don't know how he feels about fossil fuelsm but shit!

Also, I would consider buying some sort of gasoline alternative automobile when I am looking to move past my present vehicle if they didn't make all of them look like some fucking Flight Of The Navigator escape pod.

They probably think with all these gays getting married and babies getting aborted that the world is about to end and Jesus is coming back so no need to worry about the future.

or they just have a lot of faith that jesus will provide.

Abiogenic Petroleum Origin, from Wikipedia
That article skims the surface of the argument that not all of the petroleum is created from organic material.

Also, after actually pondering the question a bit, I'm not sure of percentages but the organic matter believed to form the chemical reactions to create petroleum is from plant and animal matter, not specifically dinosaurs.

So you can eliminate the T. Rex and still get earl. Gawd could have created all the plants and animals 6000 years ago and also made it rot and make petroleum in the same time span.
