You lucky fuckers. See if you can smoke some meth with Stroker Ace Mike Cooley, or at leats guzzle some Jacl with Patterson.

(Kurtz -- I wonder if Upcoming Alt.Country Boo-hoo Band Shurman Frontman Aaron Beavers will bein attendance?)

Can you pick me up some of those cheesy magnet souvenirs while you're there? I'll see about getting you an Amoeba license plate frame or something.

I recommend anyone near this to go.

Would it be acoustic only at Amoeba or full band? Full band is them at their best but an acoustic gig would be damn good. They have plenty of songs that would translate.

If they stick around to sign shit I recommend you go say hi to them. Some of the most down to earth dudes you will meet ever. Ask Patterson what he's listening to on the road. I'm sure he'd be all over talking music.

It's really up to the band how they wish to perform -- acoustically or otherwise. The store is set up for either. And, there's usually a meet 'n' greet afterward...so, I'll be sure to ask 'em about their on the road music listening.

Most overrated band on this board, at least I like the Wrens. I have tried but they just aren’t my style.

Maybe I should give them another chance and see this free gig. Don’t think I want to deal with traffic and it’s impossible to go to Amoeba without spending $100 but I can’t because I’m broke so…

It's cuz they're not Brits, isn't it?

I listen to more American bands then English these days. So no that is not it but it’s like Lynyrd Skynyrd, where I can see they are really talented, but can’t the music.

A bit sick of the circle jerk these guys get and in a very pissy mood!

So, what was your impression, T? Did you get to say hi?

I'll be honest, while they performed onstage, I went shopping about. Though, I would stop now and then and give them my full attention. I thought they were really good. Music was very low-key and with them performing acoustically, it made it that much nicer.

Sorry to say, I didn't stick around to say "hello".

I saw the bus ooutside but didn't know who was inside. Too bad I missed this thread or else I would have stopped in. (I'm still getting my LA legs about me.) Not a big fan but they do get me thinking of my southern rock high school days... gulp.

Speaking of the El Rey I see that Clem Snide and Rob Schneider are playing there tonight (Wed. 4/6). Anybody fams out there? I've seen the Clem boys a few times and they are a lot of fun but I haven't picked up there latest.

Crack, Amoeba has a marquis on the front that also announces when they'll have instore appearances.

As for Clem Snide, I'm chillin' tonight. I considered buying tickets but decided not to in the end.
