What do you people think about this album? I was walking through Borders today and it caught my eye based on the cover art and Astralwerks connection. The album seems to feature contributions from various electronic artists, including Prefuse 73, Schneider TM and Bjorn Torske. I've never heard anything by Kings of Convenience before, but Erlend's solo album sounds interesting.

You and I do not share many likes, so don't take my word for it, but to me "Unrest" was pretty lame electropop. It borrows elements from Kings of Convenience and Royksopp (Oye did some vocals on Melody AM), but the songs are pretty unmemorable. I would recommend either of those other projects first.

Not sure about that one but DJ Kicks from last year is pretty neat. What he did on that one is mix like 15 to 20 songs together but sings on top of a lot of those mixes. I like KOC more but is really mellow and this is the exact opposite of that stuff. He has a great voice and that is what holds DJ Kicks all together, "Don’t get too drunk to Fuck" is what I will always remember this by. I don’t think he sings on Unrest and so it goes down a different path.

np: Zero 7 - Simple Things

you have to like it for what it is. it's not a crap album but it is veerryy 80s pop. like the other discussion on mike patton, fun in small doses.
