So, are any of you Chicagoans hittin' this up? I'd go -- that's a pretty good lineup so far.

Quote:
Pitchfork Media, you either hate them or love them. After nearly 10 years in publishing, Pitchfork continues to be a respected and reliable part of the independent music community. Are you one of the 150,000 visitors they receive everyday. Are you a Pitchfork-aholic? If so then the first annual Intonation Music Festival is for you. (btw. Lollapalooza '05 is that following weekend. Perhaps a trip to Chicago is at hand?)

Intonation Music Festival
July 16-17
Chicago @ Pulaski Park
The Decemberists
The Fiery Furnaces
Will Oldham (special DJ set)
Broken Social Scene
The Go! Team
Four Tet
Magnolia Electric Co.
The Wrens
A.C. Newman
The M's

Admission will be $10 at the door and certain proceeds will go to benefit the Chicago Park District's after-school music programs. The park is located at 1419 W. Blackhawk St.

It's at a park, Chris. And, I'm thinking of flying over for this as well.

I would almost certainly go if Will Oldham was playing with a band, but that's not the case. Magnolia Electric Co is the only other act I'd care to see.

Yeah, as much as I want to see The Wrens and The M's there is no advance sell, it's day of show only AND that time of year is notoriously hot as fucking Hades here. I'm talking 100 degrees.

I have a feeling it's going to be a disaster. Just my two cents.

I'm more curious right now about the Lollapalooza being practically in my backyard and supposedly The Pixies have been confirmed for it, so I can walk home and such if I'm annoyed or anything.

Kurtz, let's consider this. I can probably afford something by then.

I can't wait for everyone who thinks Pitchfork sucks to be lining up for this show first thing in the morning. Chris Ott will probably try to set up his own festival on the other side of the street, then rant on Hipinion how everyone is stupid for going to this one instead.

You know, you will have to get back to L.A., unless you're relocating...

and, come on, this is L.A.. You're not going anywhere...

i'm waiting for the next batch of announcements. i'll be missing the siren on coney island this year, so i'll probably go to this instead.

i am waiting for any lollapalooza lineup first, though. i keep hearing new order rumors and i'd rather see them there than at the aragon for $50.

I keep reading that Brian Jonestown has signed on.

I have a feeling that the band lineup for this will be pretty damn cool. Which is why if my bosses go to friggin Hawaii that weekend as I was just informed saturday they might I may truly kick their asses. Because that means I'd miss it and have to run the spa. If that's to happen I'm lookin for a new job before then. :P

Yeah, this or the Lollapalooza deal. We need to get to the Windy this year for sure.

And then there's this:
