to a woman who is not that much older than me. Actually she is damn near half his age. Once my big questions about her were answered (i.e. she is not going after him for his money) I was pretty cool with it. I think my two brothers are also cool with it. Now my 2 sisters and my grandma (on my dad's side) on the other hand, they seem pretty pissed about it. My older sister kind of had a break down after the reception. I am a pretty liberal person when it comes to these types of things, I figure that if my dad is happy and she is happy then there should be no issues about it. Am I wrong here?

Quote of the night: As I was helping my grandpa up in front of the altar for pictures with my dad and his bride he whispers to me: "Joe keep as much space as you can between me and her because she is completely full of shit."

Oh, and I am also stuck at home by myself in Ohio due to the snowstorm in Denver and so have the solitude/boredom to ponder these kinds of things.

Yeah, my wife's stepmother is younger than my wife's oldest brother.
But her dad and the lady have been married for about twenty years now, so I guess it can work out.

Did you try to bang one of her sisters?

'Least you were invited to the wedding. I went to visit my dad one time before he bought his house, and noticed he was wearing a wedding ring. The next time I went down,he had bought a house, and lo and behold, had a wife and a two year old.

Seconded.

That said, me being Monty, I would have tried to bang the bride.

'Cause, if my father tried to pull that shit on me, marry someone my age, or even within six or ten years of me, I would think him full of shit. I mean, date within your own age-cohort, douche-bags. None of this Tony Randall shit, mmmkay?

We don't need widows of thirty or forty years standing. Or, widowers for that matter, as should be sooner than we'd think to happen... Demi-Ashton is just the aperitif.

I pride myself on the fact that I've managed to avoid meeting, even once, my dad's partner of 16 years.

Oh the bitterness and rankle!

Nope, as long as you're just as cool with your mom marrying someone close to your age.

There's no formula for this. Sometimes it's legit and harmless (besides being, really, only their business). And sometimes the young one is a gold digger, or the older one is just trying to recapture youth.

On a related note, I'm pretty sure my dad got remarried this weekend too. I should call him. I've met her, and she was really nice.

The highlight of the trip was seeing my nieces and nephews, so that made it fun, and there was plenty of alcohol.

See my dad gave me about 3 weeks' notice, and there would've been 0 alcohol. That means Squirrgle ain't breakin hearts nor risking job and limb to get there. Plus it was like #7 or 8 for him. The magic's worn off.
