What do y'all think compared to the first record? I dig the new one a ton, but it's a huge departure from the first one. I actually miss some of the intensity from the first one.

I enjoy it much more than the first. I felt that the more "manic" moments on the debut were also the annoying ones, so I'm glad those are gone.

Definitely a more "mature" album this time around. I too miss their more guitar-driven moments and am anxious to see how their new songs will come across live.

It's not so much the manic moments that I miss... I just feel somehow that the older songs connected to me more. This new is not a disappointment, just totally different than the first. I hope to see them live soon.

Open Season could be for you. I have only had a 1 shot quasi-listen. Less dissonance, focused, yet derivative from an Echo standpoint. A good thing. I hope further listens shed more light for me.
