anyone else watch it?

i'm a huge fan of Mario Batali's creations. his battle against Roberto Trevino was one of the better episodes i've seen.

also good to see the first female Iron Chef, Cat Cora. she's amazing.

I saw it for the first time over the weekend, they created all kinds of concoctions with different mushrooms. Daaaaaamn, everything they created looked soooooo good. I was salivating by the time the show was over with.

Great show, and I don't like cooking (although I do like eating quite a bit). I missed most of the one with the woman iron chef, but the stuff they do is amazing (at least it looks like it is).

Also, my 5-year old son is hooked on Emeril Live, which is really weird to me.

I too ama a fan of Molto Mario. This show is much better than the japanese version, I think. Probably because I know who most of the chefs are.

I did see one where the ingredient was potatoes, and that one kind of bored me. I like it when they give something a little less bland. Like last night's catfish episode. The catfish "chop" that dude created was cool.

yeah, last night's battle was with with Trevino.

agree on the some of the episodes. potatoes, no matter how you do them up, are always going to be less exciting than say a nice fish.

it's the complexity of the dishes that get's me excited. layer upon layer of flavor. i'd kill to be a guest.:)

Now that's a spicy meatball.

I would take some stuff from him, but it can be hard to find even the 'simple' ingredients of some of his dishes in rural Aladambama. There is a Super WalMart that is my nearest grocery store, and the check out people look at me funny when I buy Perrier, so imagin trying to find shallots or stuff like that

I couldn't even get tuna steaks today. Plenty of catfish nuggets, tilapia and Shrimp from ASIA, even though we are not 3 miles from Bayou La Batre (aka wear Bubba Gump Shrimp ws based, and they have 20-30 shrimp companies) Gotta love the global market.

I saw my first and only ICA at my bro-in-law's house. Mario lost to an all female crew over Mushrooms. It was a great show. I saw a bunch of Japanese ICs in my Cali days and was entertained. But, I was happy to see that the American judges, at least in the one episode I saw, did not consist of one anorexic socially subdued pixie like actress.

I liked the one where Bender and Elzar went head to head, and Bender defeated Elzar hands down by using a secret little ingredient laced with LSD.

BAM!!
