Has anyone heard this? Two musicians/multiinstrumentalists who specialize in obscure and hard-to-find instrumentswho had a side gig playing behind Rick Moody during readings. I guess this was pretty successful because they got to record an album with lyrics from lotsa hotshit writers including Moody, Jonathan Lethem, Margaret Atwood, Dave Eggers, Denis Johnson, Neil Gaiman, Paul Auster, A.M. Homes, etc....
It sounds a lot like TMBG in some places, with all sorts of kooky instrumentation (i'm not sure how much theremin i can take before freaking out, but it's a fine line) and in a lot of cases overreaching lyrics. I'm just curious to see if I'm the only one who bought this.

you know i've got no idea i'll check when i get home but i don't think so. I'm willing to bet they're on a Brooklyn label if not some sort of McSweeney's deal.

you have to ask why? You're talking to the guy who was excited for a week over Best of the Red Army Choir.

hey it all goes back to that scene in Rocky IV where they're all singing for Dolph Lundgren. Most of the way I am probably goes back to Dolph Lundgren in some srange way or another. and Brigette Neilson. yikes.

and I'll have you know I am the Comptroller of Whathefuck

do you have the Punisher on dvd? Dolph was manly in that. i think that the Boz was a bigger influence on me than Dolph.

nah, though I did see the Punisher, which puts me ahead of the curve. Viewing Captain america was creepy and weird, though.

What was that Boz movie where he infiltrated the biker gang run by Lance Henrikson? wasn't there some massive shootout in the end that resulted in a governor getting thrown into helicopter blades or some nonsense? Wait, are there even any other Boz movies?
