Is it just me, or does the beginning of Ted Leo's "Little Dawn" bear more than just a passing resemblance to the beginning of My Morning Jacket's "One Big Holiday"???

I love Ted Leo, and am definitely not accusing him of plagarism, or anything of the sort. The similarity just struck me as kinda neat.

The Rolling Stones - Wild Horses

Beck - The Golden Age

Everytime that song starts playing I think it's the stones for like 3 seconds.

yes!! i heard "little dawn" on the radio yesterday and was like, "who is ripping off my morning jacket?" then when the vocals kicked in, i knew who it was.

(when is lookout going to release shake the streets on vinyl? none of my record stores have it in. and i can't start buying ted leo albums on cd now. i've got too much on the wax.)

there's this club in philly where the djs always follow "american girl" with "last night" and i get it, but it's lame on their part. as if they're not predictable enough, they've got to pull the same few stunts every single time.

and my addition is some hives song that sounds a lot like blur's "parklife" slowed down. of course, i can't think of any hives songs right now, but i know there's one out there. (cause i pulled the same shit djing one night, dropping those two back-to-back.)

I just had a moment like this the other day when this song came on and I thought it was this other song. I don't remember either of the songs though. Yep. People with, what are they called... memories, carry on.

it's either at making time or sorted - the two indie-rock dance parties in philly. they rotate from silk city to transit. the futureheads just played this past weekend, but it was actually the first time in maybe a year that they didn't do "american girl"-"last night." (unless they played it after i left at 3.)

Definitely. I just heard 'Eighties' for the first time in years and was more than a little shocked at how liberally it was lifted.

Best use of the song Eighties is the house party scene in Weird Science.

Also, obviously Beasties' Jimmy James and Cheap Trick's live Surrender, although that's because one samples the other
