YOU'LL FIRE YOUR MUSKET, BUT I'LL RUN YOU THROUGH

Bow to EDDIE, motherfuckers!!!
Listening to this now, and it's kicking my ass.
I feel like I'm 13 again, but in a good way.

I only first heard them when Piece Of Mind came out, so I grew up with Bruce Dickinson. DiAnno sounded tougher, but I still like Dickinson.

There's a punk undercurrent to the first two albums, Killers especially, that put them on a much higher level. "Tougher" is an apt description--the DiAnno stuff sounded like they could hurt you; with Dickinson, you kind of just point and laugh at the spandex and hair.

Wait until I get home from work tonight and I'll jump on Colinswood - I've got a bunch ripped (if you don't mind aac files.)

"Iron Maiden can't be fought/Iron Maiden can't be sought." Yeah, I'm a Maiden fan. What's it to you?

Thanks so much.
But I have no idea what an AAC file is. I am on a Mac, though and that has proven to be difficult w/ any file type other than mp3, unfortunately.

Maiden, damnit.
Maiden.
breaks down in tears...

The "Best Of The Beast" CD is a really good "greatest hits" disc...it's all I have, & all the Maiden I'll ever need.

It's Apple's proprietary format, which will definitely work fine on your Max, obviously, but if you have something other than an Ipod they won't (or are their DAPs that use AAC (which show up as .m4a) files - anyone know?)

The two disc version of that is one of the best best-ofs I've ever heard. I have all the albums and yet still think it's a great selection of songs. If you're looking for it in stores, it's very, very hard to find - it came in a small CD-sized box with a beautifully illustrated book inside with tons of artwork and photos. Very, very cool. It's the definitive best-of - all others (and there are several now) pale in comparison.

In fact, I'll rip it tonight and it'll be available on Colinswood. And in case anyone cares, I'm now ripping 192kbps mp3s instead of aac. More love for everyone!

Thanks Colinswood.
But I don't even own an iPod.
Yes, I am still living in the 20th century.

That must be pretty hard to find, alright...never seen or heard of it. Sounds nice.

What's the deal on that "Ed Hunter" thing? It's like a best-of + a video game or some shit...if the 2 disc "Best Of The Beast" is near the top of the "greatest hits" pile, I'd bet "Ed" is near the bottom.

Ed Hunter was stupid, imo. There was no need for that when Best of the Beast was still in print (and the two-disc could be found pretty easily at that time.) I never bought it, so I can't say if the game is worthy or not, but it looked pretty lame. It did, however, have a new version of "Wrathchild" with Bruce on vocals. Not enough of an incentive to get me to buy it.
