Just noticed this in the monthly Railway Club mail-out:

THE RAILWAY CLUB Saturday, May 7th: Terrific Triple Bill! SPARROW (featuring J. Zumpano), THEY SHOOT HORSES DON"T THEY?, BONAPARTE (pop ensemble featuring Dan Bejar of Destroyer)

I didn't realize that Bejar was gigging around with Bonaparte (the first I've heard of it, anyway). So there you have it; keep yer eyes peeled for a Bonaparte EP maybe.

Sounds like a hoot - I hope you're going to the show. It's nice to hear J. Zumpano's back behind the kit. I hadn't paid him any attention since Zumpano, so I thought he drifted off and shriveled up somewhere in the Yukon Territories. Plus, Carl's star was starting to rise pretty quickly.
Still sportin' their bumper sticker: My Other Car Is A Zumpano.
Give us a review if you manage to go.

From what I hear, Zumpano is the main man (guitar/vox) in this new experiment...

and, any Bejar sighting is a good Bejar sighting... the more material, the better!

Yep. That Swallow album has been out for almost a year now. It's very hushed, folksy chamber pop sorta stuff, lotsa piano. Pitchfork crapped all over it here.
