shower or even picked out clean clothes and I probably should go to bed before 2 am. Probably.

My only ally against soft rock radio hell is getting done next Friday and it'll just be me with a big fake smile on my face pretending it's okay to play Richard Marx and not kill people after.

Woop.

me?

Finally talked to my dad (he's been outta town a while), had the "so I got fired" chat. He was waaay more supportive than I'd figured on. I thought he'd barely be able to hide the disdain. Not so... I was pleasantly surprised. "Son, bad shit happens to nice people."

HEY!!!
Richard Marx grew up in my hometown (Highland Park, IL).
But yeah, I'm not a big fan either.
:wanker:

I went to school with someone who looked exactly like Richard Marx which was odd because he was 16 at the time (my friend, not Richard Marx).

awkward conversations with a dad, yours or otherwise, are some of the scarriest things imaginable. i had to explain to my gf's dad once that no, i wasn't beating her, but we are in the emergency room and she does have a large cut underneath her eye where i broke a glass on her face, and accidents happen.

It's funny how scared I was of talking to my dad about it. Everyone else I can reason with, but dad is sorta open-and-shut about things.

did he buy that it was an accident?
(obviously he did, because you threatened the gf to tell him it was an accident or you'd mess up her other eye.)

oh, every conversation i have with her dad is awkward, but he's as visibly uncomfortable as I am so it pans out nicely. He has inherently threatened to skin me alive if I ever mistreated her, though. But that's normal.

My father in law doesn't speak a word of English.

Edit: Except he knew all the words to Tom Jones - Sexbomb.
