right now i think that my favorite is patton oswald's feelin' kinda patton., although the louis ck live in houston disc has some purely choice moments on it and the last mitch hedberg cd destroyed me... once. he was better live. anyway, here's where you recommend others for me.

Seinfeld's - I'm telling you for the last time.
Foxworthy's first 3
Cosby - Himself
Blue Collar Comedy tour is pretty good.

I am planning on making a best of Bob and Tom cd since their discs have tons of guest comics doing their best bits.

Edit: I am thinking of getting some of this stuff:

Brian Regan: Live

Bill Cosby - Why is there Air?
is a favorite.

And my friend Dave calls
The Button-Down Mind of Bob Newheart
one of his favorite albums ever, period.

This has been out since the late 90's. He's performed on all of the late night talk shows before. This live cd is fucking hilarious. There are no curse words on it at all and no dirty subject matter at all but's it's freakin hysterical. I actually went to see him last weekend and he has all new material for the main part of his act but he did an encore of a bunch of stuff of this cd and the crowd was literally finishing the jokes for him. That tells you how many times people have repeatedly listened to it including myself.

I have no comedy CD's. I have none for the same reason I never bought a lot of comedy albums. I would listen twice, maybe three times, and that's it.

The only comedy CD's I would consider would be a comprehensive Lenny Bruce box set, since there are soundbites that would fit very well among the songs on a mix CD. Otherwise, they would just take up valuable shelf space.

Such a fucking asshole. Classic.

I really want to hear the Richard Pryor box, espec. "Bicentennial N*****" and "That N****** Crazy"

A friend of mine in HS had an Eddie Murphy tape that either pre-dated Delirious, or was released between Delirious and Raw that was some of the funniest shit I've ever heard.

And I know he ganked his whole act from Hicks, but Denis Leary's "No Cure for Cancer" was another HS-smoke-one-and-laugh fave.

David Cross' two cds are near classics, in my opinion. His double debut 'Shut Up you Fuckin' Baby' is the funniest thing I've heard in years.

Derek & Clive "Come Again" ('78), "Ad Nauseum" ('79?)

Take two prolific British humourists, get 'em pissed to the gills, strap on a mic and this is pretty much what you get. Peter Cook & Dudley Moore's crass, spoken word piss-takes focus on the insignificant (wanking, cancer, fat slags), but with a heavy & vulgar fist.

Highly underrated hilarity.

David Cross 'Is Not Funny' is worth a rip/burn for the first three tracks alone. As follows:

1. Certain Leaders in Government Look or Act like Certain Pop Culture References!
2. Women, Please Rinse Off Your Vagina and Anus!
3. A Rapid Series of Comical Noises!

A slight edge to INF over Shut Up, You Fucking Cunty, imo.

The David Cross CD's are really good, & Rant In E Minor is in my All-Time Top 10 Albums list. Not just comedy records - ALL records.

I plan on picking up the Sklar Brothers Poppin' The Hood! soon...I became a fan via their Cheap Seats TV show, & saw their stand-up later. Really funny stuff. "Chopper 4 crashed into the Hudson River, & who was first on the scene? Chopper 4!!!"

I play David Cross's CDs all the time. When I want to go to bed in a good mood, I throw one of his records into my CD player and let his silly stories take me away. Seriously, his material never gets old.

our station did an interview with kitty bruce for that new collection, let the buyer beware. and we had it playing in the offices for awhile. there's the usual stuff and a few rarities unearthed from his tapes underneath her bed. it's pretty typical lenny bruce.

Get Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill on DVD (from Anti Records, of all labels); it's available on CD, but you're better off seeing him first, and not just because of his fabulous frock.
