Hmmmm... Could be good. I just re-read The Dark Knight Returns and Batman seems pretty cool to me right now.

Frank Miller's doing another batman book this summer and (thank god) he is not drawing it.

I really want this to be good but the new batmobile sucks and the trailers aren't encouraging that this will be any better than 'Batman' or 'Batman Returns'

I don't think any Batman movie at this point would be "better" than the first two. That new car smell is gone.

That being said I am interested in seeing this one. I liked the first few previews I saw. They were a lot more dark than this one. It seems they're trying to grab the folks that liked the last couple with this one. I'd rather those fucks stayed home and not ruin my experience.

Yeah, that last Dark Knight book (drawings) was very disappointing.
I had no idea he was doing another.
Do you know what it is about?

I just don't understand how if this is a prequal, how the old batmobile is way more advanced than the new one...
Other than that, I am psyched!

What?

The story from that last DK Returns is what sucked balls. At least I thought it did based on what little of that crap I could make it through (just a portion of the first issue).

It's hard to get into Batman stories in general, though. They pretty much always rehash the same shit with the original Dark Knight Returns being the one exception. Year One (which I'm assuming Batman Begins is based on) was merely good for its day and not really all that fantastic.

This is NOT year one in the slightest, other than being set in roughly the same amount of time. Nearest I can tell, a lot of this film focuses on a young Bruce Wayne traveling to the far east and training, then Batman battling the Scarecrow and Ras Al Ghul. and Lucious Fox is in there, too. So no, this is not Year One by any stretch. Still, it could be very promising.

I didn't mind the scripts to either DK or DK2 at all, in fact i thought they were great considering that they're about a senior citizen trying to fight crime. There's an cult of little Batmen, too. I have no problem admitting that Batman generally rehashes the same story over and over, but those books were drastic in departure from the norm.

and i have no idea what the new Miller book is about, though, other than he wants to include as many characters from the DCU as possible. Also, Jim Lee is drawing it, which is fucking okay by me.

Are you talking about "Allstar Batman"? That is the only thing I know Lee is doing right now.

Oh, I love the original DK Returns. I guess it seemed otherwise in my post.

I can't stand Jim Lee now, though.

I just don't like the way he draws anymore. I don't know if it's that his style changed or my tastes did. I loved his stuff when I was 12 and reading X-Men. I even liked his original run on WildCats. I haven't liked anything he's done since then.
