Two Dutch churches were attacked by arsonists, apparently in retaliation for earlier attacks on mosques. An opinion poll on the day of the funeral showed that 40 per cent of Dutch people no longer considered Muslims welcome. A Muslim school in the southern Dutch village of Uden was burnt down last night. The attackers left a message referring to the murder.

Hm... I thought it was obvious that that was the joke. So many people lament that Europe laughs at us for our backward ways.

No way, man. Like, Europe is so enlighened. They've socialized everything, and everyone's happy there. No one gets sick because, like, health care is free. Their societies are infinitely superior to ours, because like, their leaders are smarter than Bush, and they didn't go into Iraq or nothing.

That will strengthen their bond, as humans and neighbours, and, beside, even if it doesn't, they'll be so zonked on reefer they'll have no energy to burn a church, or mosque, or ashram, or, well, whatever.
