I remember Sketchy saying something about that awhile ago, methinks.
You thinks correctly, m'lady. Check
this. If it fits, you're in good company (self, FT, Charli, mlle_xix, et al.). If not, hey you're still in good company.
Actually, over the weekend, my Mom gave me a copy of the book. It's pretty dead-on.
I just seem to be in the midst of a week that is particularly driving the point home.
Innocent cleaning products + me = nausea, headache, dizzyiness, trouble concentrating. So frustrating.
But it is cool having super-sonic hearing... and to be in good company
PopTodd, a friend of mine recently mentioned that rock musicians develop sensitivities to certain frequencies, partly due to wear & tear and partly to the fact that we
train ourselves to listen more closely.
Yup.
I'm horribly, horribly sensitive to chemicals, and when I clean I have a tendency to feel really ill for a couple days afterwards.
I'm also prone to anxiety attacks and am claustrophobic(though I'm working on that one)
One of the reasons I toned down my lifestyle and took a break from going out and such was because it was making me a basket case. I'm a much calmer, more reasonable person now since I've been taking it easy and reading books and being more domestic.
I help run a Spa in a snooty part of the city and it sucks sometimes because I'm overly sensitive to the way people say things to me or reactions.
One interesting thing though about being "highly sensitive" is the factor that I am hyper-sensitive and have been told so since I was a child. And with that my intuition is almost rock solid. Which also can make a person rather nervous in general. I can sense situations and how people feel just by walking into a room that they're in. It's creepy.
It's also led to the downfall of past relationships because I would know when something was up or wrong and didn't want to admit it or end em, it would make me nervous and then I'd push the person too far.
My son is also highly sensitive which is why I understand him best and getting others to understand him.
(todd, I didn't know this about your son. We should talk sunday night, k?)
