Has been filled with cloudy skies outside my window, delicious coffee and two beautiful records.

Black Sheep Boy by Okkervil River and the Self Titled record by Akron/Family.

As good as a Monday can get in the emerald city.

my morning has consisted of the most harrowing bank experience i've ever come across, pangs of guilt for freaking out at the teller in said bank experience, cancelling a date tonight because i forgot i had to work my other job and trying to scan out an entire hematology book on a piece of shit scanner, not to mention my father undergoing a pretty serious medical procedure that i won't even know the result of until late tonight. so yeah, you can jam your sunny day up your ass.

not really. it's a shitty morning though.

I've listened to Black Sheep Boy twice already today, with another turn coming sometime later, I'm sure. It's really fucking good.

I rocked this (Okkervil), along with some other alt.country-ish stuff yesterday while laying in a hammock and enjoying the nicest day I can remember. It was like 65, no clouds and no humidity, which usually sits over Alabama like a hot, wet blanket.

Really good album

I hope the stuff with your dad goes well. The rest- turn it into a funny story rather than a shitty experience and you'll feel better. My writer's group is currently in a process of taking all of our insane experiences and turning them into vignettes for one act plays. It has been hilarious to rehash them and put them down on paper.

Mine has been blah. It's cloudy, grey, and I just received a phone call that my son had an anxiety attack at school and got into a fight with another kid and bit said kid.

Lovely. I'm going to go hide in my bed for the next few hrs.

This sounds like a really cool idea.

a appreciate the encouragement, Jimmy. You're dead right about this, and since I do tend to write infinitely better when i'm pissed off and freaking out i should give a whack at this.

as you know this would normally be my first course of action, but since my bank account is frozen right now and I'm scraping change out of my desk to go buy a granila bar for my lunch, that's not realy an option. Also, the liver-based nature of my dad's thing today kinda puts it in poor taste.

note: my dad's liver thing is not alcohol based in the slightest.

Your dad?

I "slept in" today until 8:30am, made a killer breakfast, read the newspaper, confirmed plans for later this afternoon and am waiting for my food to digest a bit before going to the gym.

Cotton, sorry to hear about your pops -- hope everything turns out okay and that he has a speedy recovery.
