I was planning on taking a 3 day tour through the Scottish Highlands and Isle of Skye, but may have to forsake that for this -- The Burns Festival -- occuring the same weekend. Roddy Frame, Pete Doherty, Finlay Quaye, Mylo, Aberfeldy and Trashcan Sinatras all happening that weekend.

Dammit, why do they make this so difficult?!? I need more time in Scotland.

You've obviously never seen the Trashcan Sinatras live. I think I'm gonna reschedule the highland tour.

Amen. A trip to the Isle of Skye will be much more rewarding than seeing those acts. As if you don't see enough music as it is ... take three days off, love.

They're currently on tour here in the States. Don't scrap your trip, go eat haggis!

We'll see. I am already seeing Teenage Fanclub, Art Brut and Dogs Die in Hot Cars while there. But, The Trashies on their home turf...arrrrgh!

I don't know that any concert would make me cancel my travel plans. Maybe I am on old fogie though. Italy in 10 days...3 finals to study for, flight to Sacramento to interview for job, regular work schedule, prepare for trip...jesus h, too busy.

Ok, back to studying deductions.

Well! Come on!

You can see bands anytime and most of those groups are washed up has-beens.

Get your ass on the coach, woman!

EDIT: And do you honestly believe Pete Doherty is going to turn up? Yeah, right!

There's no way you could get a scrap going with Tania.

She'd just keep putting it off until the imaginary 'next time' to go see some crappy band.

So I'm sorry if I offended Tania, but by flying 5,000 miles to Scotland and making a gig by Findlay fucking Quaye a priority she has offended an entire nation!

Uh, guys?

This thread got really awkward. I think that people should do whatever the hell interests them the most on their vacations.

The question is, why only three days in the highlands? There is no way that's enough time. I could spend a month in the Western Isles alone.

Jesus Christ, people! I didn't realize this was going to create an issue.

For the record, I was considering changing my three day tour through the Highlands to the previous weekend not canceling them. To give you a brief bit of history, everytime I've gone to Scotland, my friends have promised to take me but the weather has always been fowl and we've not had a chance to go. This time, I decided to take matters into my own hands and book a tour on my own. (Just in case you're interested in learning more about it, look [url=http://www.wild-in-scotland.com/3dhlskye.php]here/url].)

The REAL reason I wished to change my plans is because it allowed me to spend time with my friends who live in Ayr where The Burns Festival is occurring. I've seen the Trashcan Sinatras (who I do love) and, yes, it would've been fun to see those other artists. But, it would've been more fun to hang out with my friends who invited me to go.

So, there you are. No worries, Obnerites, I'm STILL going on my tour. Ohhh...and the question as to why only three days? Well, because I also plan on going to Dublin for a couple of days, plus, I wish to spend time with my friends that live in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
