Some notes / observations from the Trail Of Tears:

- Still not employed, and have largely been ignored by jobs that are utterly beneath even me.
- Got a rejection letter from a company just this afternoon.
- Do, however, have an interview with my favorite company thus far, who shall here-in remain anonymous as fuck, as one might imagine.
- Met with the admissions / deans / important people at the MBA program here yesterday morning. Wow. I have a chance I think. The program I want into accepts 10 to 20 people yearly, has had 100% placement for the 3 years of its existence, and has on its board of 7 directors some absolute Heavies. See the thing I didn't realize right off is that it's a game of "hireability" there. I came at this thinking it was 95% paper (scores, grades, work experience etc) and 5% interview, but it's a hell of a lot closer to 50/50. They protect that 100% placement figure jealously, and the corp backers who foot the bill for all this put a TON of pressure on the admissions folk for people who are very hireable - as in well-spoken, sharp, quick, not nervous speakers, etc. I may just edge in there.
- Fielded a call from Unemployment on the way to the meeting at school... that was funny. Explained terms of current unemployment, will be getting a letter any day now explaining whether I get bene's or not, I'm guessing "not." They don't pay for termination for "wrongdoing."
- Went to a temp agency, filled out paperwork, humored community college drop-out interviewing me. Took typing / data entry tests, figured out a way to cheat on the typing test, didn't cheat, told test-givers about cheat method.... "That WORKS?!? We've been giving that test for 10 years! Oh my god, I'll call our I.S. right now." Yeah, and I'm the one getting fired...
- Spent the day today touring Talliesen (Frank Lloyd Wright) w/ a good friend whose uncle works there. AWESOME. Just absolutely fascinating for dorks like m'self.

I must say, that MetalPizza shirt really put the fight back in me. Things are gonna be alright.

Carry on.

I kinda need to get a job but the weather has been lovely and sunny so that's probably not going to happen.

If anyone wants me I'll be down the Botanics gardens with a book and a Subway, occassionally glancing up to watch attractive, scantily clad co-eds playing with a frisbee.

Poverty is fucking ace. I highly recommend it.

I think the most humbling experience is being turned down by shitty jobs.

Something is gonna happen for you.

Much obliged, all. I'm not fishing for sympathy, I just thought folks might wonder what's up.

Today's turn of events:

- Pregnant orange cat had kittens... 3 FEET FROM MY HEAD. She's got like 800 sq feet of space to choose from, including tons of hidden closet space and dirty clothes. But where is her chosen spot? The bottom shelf of the nightstand right next to my side of the bed. She just shoved a few old paperbacks and magazines out, scooched in there, and began making noises you can't sleep through starting around midnight and finishing at like 6 am. Then, we got to try and ignore adorable little tiny meows and licking noises. I am sleepy. I managed about 4 hrs with another pillow over my head from like 6 to 10, but a nap may be in my future, since gig 1 of 2 in a row is this evening.

I'll post a pic momentarily. Prepare to melt.

They're identical to their mother, long orange fur with the tabby stripes on the back of their heads. It's gonna be hard to tell them apart.

It's adorable unless it's 3am within 4 feet from your pillow. Those little buggers have some lungs, too.

I mean, we can't move 'em, she just grabs em and brings em back. So do we sleep in the guest bedroom? Aaaaargh. Hard to be mad when you look at them down there, tho.

Isn't she just a kitten herself? This strength of hers is astounding.

She's less than a year old, for sure. Probably 9-10 months by now. She's grown a lot in this last month and a half we've had her. It's impressive, and sad. But she's fine now. She made it. No more parking lots, thistles and burrs, or getting knocked up. Just the good life.
