how is this album? Considering the stir that single created i'm amazed that there hasn't been more word about this project over here lately. I'm sitting down to listen to it right now but i was curious. I'll post an opinion later.

Don't want to piss on your parade, prefixmag, but I'm pretty sure that it's Acher, not Archer. You may save a little cred if you can fix that in your review.

it's one of the best albums released this year.

i feel like it might've been mentioned once or twice outside of "men of station", but not much else. my anticon disdain very well could have blanked them out of my memory.

I'm actually disappointed by the record. I expected it to be fantastic. and while it's not bad...it is in fact boring at quite a few points.

Stop Breathin,
Thx so much for the correction. It's fixed now. I definitely owe you.

Dalen,
I'll probably do some record shopping this weekend and also look online if I problems finding the 12". I'll hit you up via PM if I end up empty. Thx!

My thoughts exactly.

Cotton: just curious: why the disdain for anticon?

disdain was probably not the best word to use, but i've been convinced to buy at least five records (sole, clouddead, themselves, sampler, i forget the others) from those guys due to various recommendations from this board and other places and they always sound very imaginative but boring as hell IMO. I don't really consider it hip-hop and with few exceptions (boom bip is in that camp, right?) i don't hear much of anything i could make note of as something i'd want to hear again.

Yeah, although I really like anticon, I feel the same way with some of their stuff. I like clouddead and themselves, though some of the stuff on the no music is a little meh. I think sometimes anticon can go over the top with their avant-garde-ness, like on the boom bip/doseone album circle.

Overall, though, I think anticon puts out a lot of very interesting stuff. Although boom bip isn't totally associated with that crew, I think he's absolutely amazing. His new record keeps creeping up my list this year.

13&God are half Notwist, so that seems about right...

Also one of my favorites for the year so far...

Yet another band name that brings other thoughts to mind. This one = Skid Row.
