I've listened to the new album 3 times in a row, and I've gotta say, they've still got it.

I'd heard Lyla, really enjoyed it, but still had my doubts. After hearing the entire album, I'm a believer once again. Their best material since What's The Story... IMO.

The songs Noel sings on are fantastic, and Liam's voice sounds better than ever. I'm hearing influence from Dylan heavily on a few tunes especially on "Mucky Fingers", a grimey, stomping track. "The Importance Of Being Idle" is one of the best tunes they've done, ever. "Keep The Dream Alive" has that addictive Oasis chorus that will have a stadium full of people singing. "The Meaning Of Soul" is a galloping, handclap tune.

I don't want to hype it too much, but man, I'm fucking impressed. The time they took off to write these tunes was well worth it.

Here's my fav track from it so far.....

"A Bell Will Ring"

Oops, Dalen, I didn't see this thread before posting in the other one. I've (without reading you first) parroted much of what you've said about this record.

Glad someone else agrees.

I just finished listening to this for the second time. It starts off well enough but when I heard it, the first time, I couldn’t help thinking that I was OVER Oasis. The first side is pretty bad, IMO and I wanted to delete from my hard drive. The second side, on the other hand, is pretty good and better than anything from the last three albums. The last three songs starting with "Keep the Dream" are really impressive and made me wish they could have songs that strong for the whole album.

Unless this grows on me, it will be the first Oasis album that I won’t own. This is why I believe in p2p networks, testing before you buy has improved my collection and I only have done that for about a year and a half now.

np: Beck - Guero

Just gave this a listen all the way through this morning. Liked quite a few tracks and others didn't care for so much. I'll let it sink in after a few more listens and see if it grows on me. At least it 's much better than their last few releases.
