Dunno if any of you are interested in seeing them do a TV taping for The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, but they're scheduled to appear Thursday, May 12th. You can register for tickets here -- http://www.cbs.com/latenight/latelate/

Dude, just ask Joe. And you'll get Green Room status. I am so there.

Hopefully they "sneak" in a L.A. show around that time as well, for those of us too pale to attend Coachella...

If any of you LA heads are interested in going to the Late Late Show, let me know ASAP... a good friend of mine works there and he said he can arrange a lil somethin' somethin'.

I'm leaving work early to head to this.

Dri, ask Joe to hook me up for Kasabian on May 2nd. I already have my tickets reserved -- but 'green room' statis would be sweeeet!

Yeah free food and booze plus he reserves the front row. ;) And a chance to hang with the band if they're around... I'll ask him next time I talk to him, or this weekend.

Okay.

You LA Spoon fans have 3 chances to catch 'em in LA:

5/11: Amoeba in-store @ 7pm
5/12: the Late Late Show w/Craig Ferguson
6/21: show @ the Avalon

So there you go.

Also- they will be on KCRW Morning Becomes Ecletic on 5/13 @ 11:15AM.

Can't get enough of Spoon! :D

Thank God they're playing in LA. I was getting worried there. I'll definitely be at the in-store on Wednesday. I can never get enough Spoon.

About forty minutes of music, new and old (isn't it all fairly "new"?), 10-11 songs in all. Perhaps someone else who was there can confirm that. They were great! Seemed genuinely surprised that so many showed up to see 'em at an instore.

Got to briefly chat with them at the signing table. I asked ...damn, the lead singer...what's his name again?...anyway, I asked how they hooked up with The Clientele for next month's show. Apparently, they're one of his favourite bands and he invited 'em to open. That'll be one great show with two awesome bands!

Got their new album signed. Now I'm home. A nice evening overall.

Good show! I'd say 10-11 songs is about right. I've never seen them live, and I was really impressed. This just made me want to go to their June show even more now. I really needed a good Amoeba trip, and this did it for me. I am quite satisfied right now.

It would've been nice to have met you. One day, I hope to. Buy anything while there?

Oh yeah, Britt!

Btw, Nic Harcourt just stated that there were 600 people at Amoeba last night and weren't allowing people in while Spoon was performing. Awesome!

I know. Next time we're at the same show, I'll find you and introduce myself.

I picked up the new Of Montreal, Edan Beauty and the Beat, The Fall Hex Enduction Hour used, and of course Spoon. I've been wanting to get Of Montreal and Edan for a few weeks, but couldn't find them, so this trip made me very happy.

Nice purchases! I was VERY good and only bought the new Spoon. Though, I REALLY wanted to buy a lot more stuff. I always feel like a damn heroin addict in that store, fiending for my next hit.

I know how you feel. Thank God I have a friend who enjoys it as much as I do. We usually spend at least two hours there. I don't know anyone else who could handle that, but it really is like a fix.

What's the longest anyone's spent in Amoeba? I think my record is 6 hours. I'm guessing that Hideous Lump will easily beat that time though.

I would have loved to have gone but didn't trust myself to step foot in Amoeba. I don't think I've ever been there and spent less than $150 and I ussually don't even find what I'm looking for. Nice pick up on Hex Enduction Hour. I love the hell out of that album.

I've been waiting to see this in the used bins since it's been reissued, and I stumbled upon it yesterday not even looking for it. I was very pleased.
