I think I'll just hang out at tinymixtapes permanently:
The Helio Sequence Court Rogue Wave, Plan Brief Summer Fling
Still warm from the oven, Sub Pop duo The Helio Sequence have announced plans to play a brief string of shows this June. Guitarist/vocalist Brandon Summers and drummer/keyboardist/former Modest Mousketeer Benjamin Weikel released their third LP (their debut on Sub Pop) Love & Distance last June and then spent most of the remaining year on the road with Blonde Redhead and assorted others. I spoke briefly with Weikel (a most charming fellow) after a Blonde Redhead show earlier this fall and he claimed the two were working on new material and are always in the midst of working on new material. No plans as to when the world at large will see any of that new material, but you never know, you may just hear them drop some new shit this June. The shows will be done with company of labelmates Rogue Wave who released an iTunes-only EP a couple months back, which includes a cover and a handful of tunes left off last year's gorgeous Out Of The Shadow. The tour skids to a halt July 2nd with two shows on Rogue Wave's home turf at The Independent in San Francisco.
