From Sesame Street? He was always my favorite as a kid.

Anyway, the new commercial was on and Yoda does his little "Destroy the Sith we must." line and I could totally hear him follow it up by saying something like "One bowl of chicken noodle soup, coming up!"

It's little things like that and the army of teddy bears that make it hard for me to take the series seriously.

Yeah, there's a reason he sounds like Grover.

Yeah, but what about: Yoda + light saber = the most ridiculous fighting scenes ever.

I never did see episode two.

And I've only seen the first trilogy a handful of times so I never paid too much attention to the voicework. I thought it was unique that he spoke in the passive voice rather than the active, but that's about it. His highschool english teacher must have hated him.

Yoda's fight scene in Episode 2 was the best thing in the movie.

Apparently, as a three year old watching Empire Strikes Back in the theater, I said to my parents "it's Grover!!" when Yoda first spoke.

This is true.

And I saw a movie once where the Fonze was an undertaker.

Plus, Shaggy Norville Rogers used to read those heart-tugging listener letters on that countdown radio show.

Yeah, I realized that in 1980, as well.

when i first saw star wars as a kid i stood up in the theater during the first scene and, having already played with the action figures, yelled

"look dad, storm troopers!!!"

. . . he still reminds me of that story at family get togethers.

Well, it's not really passive, is it? I mean, passive would be swapping the direct object for the subject, and changing the the verb to match. I.E., "The book was made green by him." instead of "He made the book green."

Invert the sentence, does Yoda. (Green made he the book.)
