In college we had a porno tape based on the premise of filming a porno movie, and the director would yell, "Action!" into a megaphone that was really a lampshade with "DIRECTOR" scrawled in Sharpie on the side.

In "The Game", there's all kinds of little things, like the taxi that he nearly drowns in, when it pulls up, the light on top says "FEAR".

in Ong Bak during one fight scene there is scrawled on a wall in the background "Spielberg, let's do it together" or something.

2 come immediately to mind:

1) The joke that Scott Glen tells Ethan Hawke in Training Day. Oh my God, did I ever laugh hard at this.

2) That 70s-esque zoom shot of DeNiro by the airport in Awakenings.

I love all the ones you are listing shiv. The beginning scene of Way of the Gun (especially with Rip This Joint rocking) set my expectations for that way too high, but that scene alone makes the movie awesome.

In Casino, when De Nire is alone in his office, he takes his pants off so they won't wrinkle. His wardrobe alone in that movie fits this category as well.

In Goodfellas at the beginning, when little Tommy meets little Henry, he says "Pleased ta meetcha, Henddry"

And when Henry comes home wasted at 6 am and Karen's mom starts in on him, his laugh when he turns around and walks away is priceless.

some movie with Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan... I'm not sure what it was called, and I didn't see the whole thing... I was just kind of in the room for part of it - but apparently Cage's character was somewhat aloof and distant within their relationship and Ryan was asking him about it:

"Are you gay?"

"no"

"Are you married?"

"no"

"Are you a drummer?"

I thought this was so brilliantly funny and pointed. I thought, "what a wonderful, obscure reference. Kudos to them for allowing it to stay in the script".

the point Luke Wilson makes to the dude in the Cemetary that calls his name in Tenenbaums is fucking classic.

that handfull of speed the title character rams into his face in Vanishing Point

Bruce Lee ripping out that massive chunk of Chuck Norris's chest hair in Game of Death

That scene in Alien right after Bishop gets tore up by the alien and then you can see, for like a split second, Lance Henriksen's whole body crouching in a ditch with the hald-body makeup all over him. The worst editing blunder EVER.

Every time you can spot the boom mic in The Beastmaster

come to think of it, everything about the Beastmaster

The basketball game in Wild Style where everybody starts rapping while they're playing, including the cheerleaders.

Vivica A. Fox's death in Kill Bill Vol. 1

The first fight scene in Dirty Ho where you realize the entire movie was lifted for the first Wu-Tang album.

i could do this shit forever.

The gunfight in the casino in 3000 Miles To Graceland...only worthy thing in the movie.

"Sabrina, don't just stare at it. Eat it." - American Psycho.

Any of Alec Baldwin's lines in Glengarry Glen Ross.

Alec Baldwin stealing Fred Ward's false teeth in Miami Blues.

The scene between Tilda Swinton and Goran Visnjic in the wrecked car at the end of The Deep End.

"Who's going to believe a talking head? Get a job in a sideshow." - Re-Animator

Ted Levine doing the voice of Rusty Nail in Joy Ride.

Right after the part in Shaolin Soccer when Iron Head and the other bad guy smash heads on the field and Iron Head's lips are flapping all over the place.

that scene with the chainsaw at the start of Jerry and Tom.

Alec Baldwin as Old Man Dunphy in Outside Providence. Calling his son "numbnuts", and that whole scene with the "horn"..

Bandits: "BEAVERS AND DUCKS!!!!!!"

There's some gold In Jesus' Son, too:

1) That scene where Billy Crudup and Dennis Leary are walking away from each other, then they both run back around the corner and "scare" each other.

2) Jack Black in the pickup truck after "saving" the baby bunnies...

the old man getting his toy train back in Ricky-Ho

Donald Pleasance discussing the meaning of finding the word "Samhaim" written on a blackboard in Halloween 2

the guy getting hit by a car after emerging from a vat of acid in Robocop

"For God's sake, come on!" [cannonball to the face] in Glory

the old man receiving his "major award" in A Christmas Story. "Ahhh... Fra-gee-lay! It must be Italian!"

Almost any scene in 29th Street where Danny Aiello and Anthony LaPaglia lock horns. "Get that fuckin cat offa there! you sonofabitch... The heat from his body is burning a hole in the lawn!"

also in Casino . . .

Towards the end when Sharon Stone completly flips out and is throwing stuff all over the front lawn and the cops come, the camera pans to Deniro in his bath robe, and he doesn't say anything, but he makes this little gesture and face to the cops that says, "you see what the hell i got to put up with?"

it's awesome.

And then asks about their families and shakes the cop's hand when he says his wife is pregnant.

Both of those movies (Casino and Goodfellas) are GREAT about shit like this

Practically all of Boogie Nights is made of wonderful little moments.

During their visit to the Rahad's mansion, Dirk's long vacant stare after the Russian Roulette bit while Sister Christian blasts in the background. I always imagine that is his moment of clarity "how the fuck did it all come to this..."

Rollergirl and Amber coked out of their minds in the bedroom..."let's go for a walk!"..."OK!"...."I don't want to leave this room though"...."ME NEITHER!"

Dirk and Reed listening to the playback of their song, "Do you think the bass is taking away from my vocals?"

Jack's growing disenchantment and disillusionment with his "films" after the Colonel goes to jail and Floyd is his new backer and Johnny Doe is his new boy.

"Is he gonna fuck me in the ass?"

"Is that what you want?"

"It'd be nice...."

"Fuck her in the ass...."

But more poignant, as he walks through the warehouse filled with thousands of videotapes being mass produced, he goes in to see Kurt in the editing room. "How is it?" and Kurt's reply: "It is what it is..."

My favourite movie of all time.

little tommy is the greatest casting EVER.

and yeah, that laugh is amazing.

also from Goodfellas

after Tommy brutally kills that guy after he tells him to "go get your fucking shine box" he very opologeticly says to Henry, "I didn't want to get blood on your floor"
